Before joining Rydge Evans, Justin was in Hong Kong where he was a partner and general counsel of an international firm. Justin has many years experience as a litigation lawyer and before going overseas practised with national firms Sparke Helmore and then Clayton Utz.

Justin has extensive experience of dispute work in a wide variety of areas including contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, regulatory investigations and proceedings, professional negligence and employment matters. Justin’s particular interest is in employment law having started his career working for a Judge of the NSW Industrial Relations Commission. Justin is able to advise on the whole life cycle of the employment relationship including the recruitment process, contractual arrangements, policies and procedures, performance management, misconduct, terminations, unfair dismissal claims and the enforcement of post contractual obligations / restrictive covenants.

Justin has acted for well known insurers, directors and officers, listed companies and investment funds, international banks and others. Justin’s time as a general counsel also gives him additional perspective on the conduct of litigation – understanding it from the instructing client’s perspective as well as that of external lawyer.
